For years, us women have been told that cardio is the best way to lose weight. While walking, running and doing your favorite True classes all have their place and can definitely get you into shape, strength training is one of the most powerful things you can do for your body- at any age.

Here are just a few of the benefits:

ðŸ”Ĩ Burns More Calories

Strength training builds lean muscle, and muscle burns more calories than fat- even while you’re resting. That means your body becomes more efficient at burning energy throughout the day.

💊 Helps You Tone Up

One of the biggest myths is that lifting weights will make women “bulky.” In reality, strength training helps create a lean, toned and sculpted look while improving overall body shape… so doing that True Pump Heavy isnt going to make you look like the hulk – it will give your body some definition!

âĪïļ Improves Everyday Life

Carrying groceries, picking up kids, climbing stairs and moving around becomes easier when you’re stronger. Strength training isn’t just about the gym-it’s about making everyday life feel easier, and with so many supermums at True this is so important!

ðŸĶī Supports Bone Health

As we get older, we naturally lose bone density. Strength training helps keep bones strong and can reduce the risk of osteoporosis later in life.

😊 Boosts Confidence

There’s something simply empowering about getting stronger. Whether it’s lifting a heavier weight than last month or simply feeling more capable, strength training builds confidence both inside and outside the gym. Plus being able to walk past Coralie at the front desk and flex a bicep is a great way to leave the gym 😂

⚡ Increases Energy

Regular strength training can improve sleep, reduce fatigue and leave you feeling more energised throughout the day.

ðŸŒļ Supports Women’s Health

Strength training can help improve hormonal health, support metabolism during menopause, improve posture and reduce aches and pains associated with everyday life.

Where Should You Start?

The good news is you don’t need to spend hours in the gym or lift heavy weights to see results.

Start with 2–3 strength sessions each week, focus on good technique and gradually increase the challenge over time. Even small improvements can make a big difference – if you are in for a class, get into a routine of a few strength exersizes at the end of your workout.

At True Woman’s Fitness, our trainers are here to help every step of the way. Whether you’ve never picked up a dumbbell before or you’re looking to get stronger than ever, we’ll help you build confidence in a supportive, women-only environment.

Strong isn’t about looking a certain way. It’s about feeling healthier, more confident and capable every single day. 💙
